South Kootenay Green Link – Rossland to Trail Bike Corridor Project
Our goal is to create a safe, fast, easy route between Trail and Rossland for commuters, visitors and the community who are travelling on bikes, and e-bikes.
Safe route with good signage and away from traffic.
Fast for commuting by bike and e-bike to help reduce ghg, emissions and traffic.
Easy, well maintained trail that is accessible to all rider abilities.
Work Planned for 2020:
Route:
- Less than ½ km through residential streets of lower Rossland, connecting downtown Rossland to the Wagon Rd.
- Upgraded ~2km Wagon Road (critical nasty bits fixed up)
- 500 meter section of new trail connecting the Wagon Road to the Railgrade.
- 2km section of the Railgrade.
- 4.4km route through the residential streets of Warfield, Annabelle, and West Trail, connecting the Railgrade to the Gulch.
Signage and Logo Design – Leroi Foundation Grant
Working with Trail employers (RDKM, Teck, Hospital) for barrier reduction, e.g. secure bike storage, changing rooms, etc.
